The Postgraduate Program in International Relations at the Sao Paulo University (Masters and Doctorate) was approved by CAPES in July, 2008. The program aims to be a center of national and international reference in research and teaching, devoted to the training of high-level researchers and professionals to work in institutions that deal with a specific knowledge in international relations, such as higher-learning institutions, international organisms, diplomatic services or other governmental agencies, planning and research centers, private companies, professional associations and civil society associations.

The Program strives to develop, alongside foreign centers with an outstanding production in international relations, an ongoing program for the exchange of teachers and students and double degree partnerships.

Being of a multidisciplinary nature, the Program is organized in two research lines: International Political Economy, which brings together academic investments in International Economy, International Law, History and Political Science, and Culture and Normative Issues in International Relations, also being of a predominantly multidisciplinary nature.

Candidates with their graduation completed are eligible to compete for the Masters course, regardless of their graduation field. Foreign students, once approved in the selection process, must obtain revalidation of their graduation diploma.

Candidates eligible to apply for the Doctorate program must have a graduation or Masters diploma, regardless of their field of formation. In both cases, foreign students once approved in the selection processes must obtain recognition of their diploma.

Vacancies shall be filled by means of a selective exam.
