He holds a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Politics from the University of Liverpool (1998), a Master's degree (MA) in European Union Politics from the University of Liverpool (1999), and a PhD in International Relations from the University of Liverpool (2010). He is a Livre Docente (Habilitation) from the University of São Paulo. Currently, he is an Associate Professor (III) of International Relations at the University of São Paulo (USP), after spending four years at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). His expertise is in Political Science, with an emphasis on International Politics, focusing mainly on topics such as crises and the role of regional organizations in addressing them, Complexity, the European Union, and regional integration.(Information provided by the author)
