On August 28, the Institute of International Relations at the University of São Paulo (IRI-USP), in partnership with the School of Multidimensional Security (ESEM-USP) and the Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME), held the event “Dialogues on National Defense,” which promoted debates on security, defense, and public policy.
The opening was conducted by Prof. Dr. Sandro Teixeira (ECEME - IMM) and Prof. Dr. Kai Lehmann (IRI-USP / ESEM-USP Advisor), who emphasized the importance of bringing academia and defense institutions closer together.

On August 26, IRI-USP hosted a postgraduate seminar entitled “A New Horizon in Economic and Financial Cooperation between Brazil and China,” featuring Prof. Hsia Hua Sheng, vice president of Bank of China (Brazil) S.A. and associate professor at FGV-EAESP, with Prof. Yi Shin Tang as mediator and Prof. Maria Antonieta Del Tedesco Lins, both from IRI, participating.
With a solid academic and professional background, Prof. Hsia Hua Sheng holds a degree in economics from USP and a doctorate and master's degree in finance from FGV-EAESP, in addition to having served as a visiting researcher at NYU Stern School of Business and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SHUFE).
