Bachelor's Degree in International Relations
The goal of the Bachelor's Degree in International Relations is to train versatile individuals, with a solid foundation in methods, and a strong understanding of the historical, economic, political, and legal fundamentals necessary to comprehend international phenomena. This program also fosters intellectual flexibility to explore a wide range of professional opportunities.
This concept aligns with the broad spectrum of career opportunities available to international relations professionals. These include high-level positions in companies engaged in international networks, non-governmental organizations, the media, the public sector, particularly in diplomatic services, and teaching and research at universities and higher education institutions.
By Ordinance CEE No. 409/2006, the State Council of Education recognized the undergraduate degree in International Relations at the University of São Paulo. The most recent renewal of the recognition was granted by the State Council of Education through Ordinance CEE/GP No. 261/2024.

Responsibilities of the Undergraduate Committee
In accordance with Article 2 of Undergraduate Council (CoG) Resolution n. 3741/1990, the Unit’s Undergraduate Committee is responsible for, subject to the powers and criteria established by the CoG, the following:
I - Establish guidelines and ensure the implementation of the undergraduate teaching programs;
II - Approve the teaching programs for each course within the Unit’s curricula, as proposed by the Department Councils, and monitor their execution;
III - Propose to the Governing Council (Congregação), after consulting the interested Departments, the number of available spots and the curricular structure for the Unit’s courses;
IV - Coordinate the Departments’ work regarding interdepartmental courses and the integration of curricula;
V - Submit to the Governing Council proposals for the creation, modification, or discontinuation of courses, after consulting the Department Councils;
VI - Continuously promote and coordinate the analysis of the functioning of the Unit’s undergraduate courses;
VII - Propose to the Governing Council the criteria for transfer;
VIII - Approve transfer processes that comply with the established norms;
IX - Approve requests for reactivating enrollment, indicating, when applicable, the necessary curricular adjustments;
X - Issue detailed opinions on diploma revalidation requests and forward them to the Governing Council;
XI - Coordinate the evaluation process of the Unit’s undergraduate courses as defined by the Governing Council;
XII - Verify, in collaboration with the Departments, the adequacy of the resources for implementing the course programs;
XIII - Carry out any other functions assigned by the USP General Regulations and the Unit’s Regulations.
Requests for the inclusion of topics on the agendas of the Undergraduate Committee meetings must be submitted to the Secretariat of the Undergraduate Service at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting dates.
We advise students to always inform the student representatives on the Undergraduate Committee of any issues or demands they wish to raise before the meetings.
